I was planning on making an epic post about how awesome the University of Maryland is, but then tonight happened.

I'm just going to say that I don't thinkdrinking doesn't do anything for me anymore. The parties are fun but coming home and realizing how miserable people can be (namely myself) is just too much to handle. I don't need the overflow of emotions (namely anger and sadness) that come with the brief fun. That isn't to say that I get like this all the time, but if I'm in the wrong compnay or something in particular happens when I'm drinking or drunk, I'll feel like the least important person in the world.

I think I'm going to stick to seltzer from now on.

Hold your applause.

Go see The Dark Knight this weekend (TDK in Imax was unbelievable). You owe to yourself. It's easily one of the top five movies I have seen.

I love and hate technology at the same time.

It's been awfully hard waiting for this to reach my front door.

It's absolutely lovely when you're minding your business on your computer and all of the sudden shit starts getting screwed up.A message came up saying that AIM needs to close. AIM closes, I try to boot it back up... same error. Reset my computer... same error. Uninstall AIM, install newer version... same error. Uninstall aim and attempt to install Trillian. Towards the end of the Trillian installation process.. the same fucking error occurs on Trillian. Anyone have any idea as to what's up with my computer? I'm running Spybot right now.

I would really like to order my Macbook Pro right about now.

To be quite frank...

The Dutch just fucked up Italy.

Bad.

Those were some awesome goals, too. Especially the first and second ones.

I could use some album recommendations!

All genres are cool, but I'm looking for some new rock tunes more so.

Today someone said something mind opening to me. One of my enemies, turned friends (and parking buddy) came up to me today and asked me to organize a movement in our class to throw our caps in the air at graduation. I mentioned my skepticism toward the idea as I doubted that many people would go for it, and it was at that point that he kind of changed the way I looked at things. He said "Jarred, you organized the tailgating, senior skip day, the class video, and the senior prank- you're THE person to organize this. If it weren't for you, 150 kids wouldn't have skipped school. You're the man for the job.You ARE the reason those things went down/are going down." It's kind of weird to think about, but I really have made an impact on my class- more so than most class officers. I'm not going to lie, I feel pretty accomplished right now. I've gone from the scared, easily-intimidated big kid to the person that people approach when things need to get done. It really makes me smile.

Now why didn't I pull for the male vote for "Best Leader" of the superlatives again? Best leader beats the hell out of best hair.

(I'll post a real update later)

STRIDE® GUM DECLARES ITS SUPPORT FOR STOPUWEBOLL.ORG

The Makers of Stride, The Ridiculously Long Lasting Gum®, Offer A Total of One Million Packs of Gum to Signers of the Anti-Uwe Boll Petition*

May 7, 2008, Parsippany, NJ – In an effort to protect the childhood dreams of millions of video gamers everywhere, the makers of Stride gum announced today that they are launching a special campaign supporting the efforts of StopUweBoll.org in their attempt to convince famed film director Uwe Boll to stop making video game-based films.

For years, Boll has piqued the ire of the gaming community by adapting many of their favorite games into universally panned films. On April 4, 2008, Boll remarked to legendary horror site FearNet that he'd consider acquiescing to his critics and abandoning making films in this genre if an online petition reached one million signatures. As of press time, the petition is just about 234,000 names,...

Sign it.

What do you think?

EDIT: I really want to go back to the spot where I took the first picture and retake it at midnight when I won't have to deal with house lights in the background.

"The White Stripes wrapped up their quirky Canadian tour July 16 with a single note in St. John's.

Following shows on boats, buses, bridges and classrooms, Jack and Meg White took to the stage on George Street in St. [John.]

John's and played a single note - reportedly a C-sharp - before announcing they have "now officially played in every province and territory in Canada" and leaving the stage.

Hundreds of fans showed up for the last minute event, but were pre-warned that the show would be just one-note long." - Ultimate Guitar

New journal, a new begining, a nice fresh start.

Frankly, I don't feel like going back and deleting all the entries on my old account. I don't feel like dealing with all the stuff I wrote up through sophmore year.
